The first United World College Scholarships were awarded by the New Zealand National Committee in the mid-70s. Since then, the NC have awarded over 150 scholarships and we now have graduates from all UWCs except UWC East Africa. A number of New Zealand graduates have gone on to further distinctions, including Rhodes Scholarships and Young Achievers Awards. New Zealand graduates are represented in a wide range of professions; prominent graduates include Victoria Ransom (Entrepreneur), Gabe Armstrong-Scott (Commonwealth Games Diver), Andrew Paquin (Film Producer), Annette Sykes (Lawyer), Cate Brett (Journalist for the Spinoff), Che Tamahori (Multimedia Designer) and David Cunliffe (Former MP).
